Terri Vruggink
With the kids gone to Grandma’s I’ve been shooting a lot of portraits lately. This is my friend, neighbor and fellow photographer Terri Vruggink making her 2nd appearance on the site. The last time she was on the site (http://project365.dansocie.com/01/reunion/) she’d recently returned from Haiti while shooting for a non-profit. However the earthquake hit while she was there and the story changed. Her work from that experience will be on display at Fountain Street Chruch during this years ArtPrize http://www.artprize.org/artists/public-profile/50277 Don’t miss it.
How to Remove Bugs From a Windshield
I was shooting detail shots of a truck and I was about the clean the windshield when a grasshopper jumped on the glass. I think he’s making fun of me.
Tom & Ellie
These are my friends Tom and Ellie and are recently engaged. They asked if I’d take their picture so they’d have an official engagement photo. See Tom and Ellie ride and race bikes as much as I do and what pictures they have of each other one is wearing some form of lycra. This was a nice change.
Billy
I was shooting portraits today and I ended up at Founders after. (surprise) I had a lot of nice shots, but this is a favorite and it wasn’t even planned.
How does your garden grow?
With all the rain we’ve been getting, it grows very well.
More blueberries
31 lbs of blueberries. I can easily eat 20 lbs myself.
Harvest
Unlike last year when hardly anything grew, this year’s garden is much more encouraging.
Whitecaps Baseball
Beautiful night for baseball.
Moppy head
Cam’s hair was getting a bit too long for me.
Mayberry
The best part of living in a small town where everything is within walking distance is sending the boys to the library. It’s only a mile a way, and they love the walk. Then they walk through town to stop at Mary Anne’s and buy candy for the walk back. The best part is the 3 hours of silence that I have in the house while they are gone.
Blueberry Muffins
Blueberry Muffins with Orange-Sugar Glaze. What more can I say?
Blueberry Pie
Steph and the boys went blueberry picking. There are going to be a lot of blueberry food pictures coming in the next few days.
Road Rash
I’m not a fan of the Ripstik but Cam loves it – that is until he crashes.
Allergies
It’s been a rough summer.
Land Cruiser
Ever since living in Colorado this is the vehicle I want to drive. I make sure to walk by it quickly since it’s not polite to stare.
Ducks Don’t Speak English
Luke can tell a story. He’s very animated, and has great comedic timing. Most of the time he has his head in the clouds, but really I think he’s working on his stand-up routine.
Watermelon
It tastes as good as it looks.
The Last Game of Season
We’ve been playing baseball or t-ball since April. It’s safe to say I’m happy the season is over.
Karl Menzies
Karl is a professional cyclist who rides for the United Healthcare team out of California. He’s originally from Tasmania but now lives in Grand Rapids. Usually Grand Rapids doesn’t draw athletes here because of the brutal winter. He’s a good guy and now considered a local. This race (Grand Cycling Classic) is probably the only race he doesn’t have to travel to short of riding his bike to the start.
Pasta Primavera
It was awesome with everything fresh from the garden. Really, really good.
Plunge
Some days you just want to jump in the pool to cool off. Other days you want to jump in the pool through a kids swim ring.
11 going on 17?
Could this be a glimpse into the future?
Kirk Park
Nice way to wrap up the weekend.
4th of July
A beautiful night in East for the fireworks.
Happy Anniversary
I really wanted a creative portrait for our 17th wedding anniversary. Yep, this will do fine.
Texture
Amazing what grows in the backyard.
Lawnmower man
Cam mowed the lawn for the first time today. He was totally ready and capable, and I couldn’t be happier to give up that job.
Bella
Seems like a nice way to end of the month of June.
