Friday evenings
Steph and I like to sit out front in the evenings with an adult beverage. It usually attracts a crowd which is always nice.

Just a few minutes alone before the boys get up makes the day right.
We are getting closer to planting the garden weather-wise, which makes Steph happy. Me, I’m just happy to bring out my favorite sculpture to watch over the farm.
I’ve been shooting video of Cam hitting so he can see how he bats. It’s been working pretty well because what he thought he was doing wasn’t even close to what he actually was.
Not sure how, but while Cam was listening to his iPod this is the shape he made while messing with the headphone cord. Guess the music is making a bigger impact on him than I thought.
Hitting a baseball isn’t easy. Cam’s first plate appearance he struck out, and he was crushed (all the boys get really mad). This is a player-pitch game and some of these kids throw so hard I’m not sure I could hit it. I had to talk him down from the tower after his first at bat explaining that the pros strike out a lot, and he better get used it since it’s part of the game. I told him “on your next bat don’t worry or fear striking out just step up and hit it.” He walked up and did just that – a base hit.
The first games of the season started and there are a lot of games from now until the end of June. I’ll have lots to shoot.
This is Steph’s Good Luke Troll. It was originally found in the glove compartment of her first car she bought in 1988, a diesel Volkswagen Rabbit. It’s been in every car of hers since. So it was only natural that he’d find a place in the new car.
We are big dog people so our latest houseguest is going to take a little getting used too. Tex too, he’s a little confused about which toy is his to play with.
Cam’s Little League baseball team is the Yankees, and he got his team gear today. We told him he couldn’t sleep with the hat on. He was disappointed.
I’m sure when this bike was dropped in the pile of leaves it messed up this guy’s house. Guess who’s boss now.
When I can I love to capture faces of riders minutes after they finish their races. This is what it looks like after racing for over 90 minutes in the elite field. Shattered.
After nearly 3 years of living with only 1 car we return to a 2 car family.
17 lbs of carbon goodness. It took a while to get here but it was worth the wait.
Maybe it was the weather but the chance to play baseball with his friends really got him moving today.
Geoff has been introducing me to how nice it is to ride at night. We have lights on the front and back of our bikes, so we are probably better seen then during the day. We don’t go far or hard – mainly just doing laps around the lake. The last few rides have been a blast.
No idea where it comes from but Luke has a future on the stage or in front of the camera. When asked a question pretty much about anything it’s usually answered with a sound effect, prat-fall, or some funny gesture.
Skype is great when you work from home because sometimes that’s the only adult interaction you get all day. Patrick lives in Boston and works from home with his 2 young girls. He was dying to talk to another adult today. Not sure I helped with that.
My family doesn’t think it’s strange anymore that I take pictures of food. I’m going to raise my game. Hopefully they won’t be concerned when I start lighting it as well.
Caught a beautiful sunrise over Reeds Lake as I rode out of town. Really nice ride and just missed the rain.
Every town has a place for ice cream and Jersey Junction is ours. It’s a short walk and a long line, but you know almost everyone there. So even when the line winds out the door and down the sidewalk, you don’t mind the wait. Tonight was one of those nights to wait in line and catch up with your friends and neighbors. (This shot does no justice for the historical landmark that Jersey Junction is. I got one shot before the battery died.)
