East Football
Rocket football is now in full swing now with pads and contact. The field where Cam practices has 6 teams on it and they are all from the same school district. East loves it some football.

I figured it would be nice to end my sister’s visit with a picture of her and our mom. awwww
We have been pretty lucky to have my sister in town. Cam thinks she’s a rock star.
This is the end of this year’s of tomatoes. It’s more than we ever imagined and this after we thought the garden had given up the ghost. We obviously need to plant less for next year.
My sister is in town from Montana to attend a wedding of her college friend. She wore these boots with the bridesmaid’s dress. You can take the girl out of the mountains, but you can’t take the mountains out of the girl.
My neighbor is French and very fun to hang out with. He brings over unique things that are new to me. The best part of this anise aperitif is taking a picture of the bottle.
Pretty sure it’s not possible to go more than a few days without taking pictures of food.
How I spend my time when I’m not taking pictures. Thanks to Terri Vruggink for capturing a moment of my race. I didn’t win (15th) but I sure do look good trying.
The lines were too long so the boys just played in the street. But some people waited 4-5 hours to go down.
The boys have been gone this week so dinner prep for 2 is much easier. At least – simpler.
This is good to remember if you ever see a T Rex coming up behind you.
I came across one of my favorite photos. I’m either a bad dad or a ruthless photographer. Probably somewhere in between. I did tend to his needs after I shot it.
But it’s not. Pasties straight from Michigan’s U.P.
Strawberries, bananas, blueberries, and a nectarine mixed with orange juice and vanilla yogurt. Also known as lunch.
I like wine, but I’m not one of those fancy connoisseurs with a cellar. I go out of my to find the best possible wine for under $15 with the sweet spot being $10. If the wine is great, you know you got a great deal, and if it stinks, who cares? It was only $10 anyway.
The garden has been very good to us this season so now everything Steph makes has zucchini in it. Those pancakes were really good.
After we registered for this year’s football season we tried out the gear. It’s doesn’t make him look any bigger but he sure feels bigger.
I thought I’d take a picture of myself so everyone can see what I look like. Ok, here you go.
If only I could land a couple more high-profile jobs I could afford the 1D. So nice.
I got to use a Canon 1D MVI for a couple hours. The images that camera produced were amazing. I suppose that’s what you should expect when the body is almost 5 times as expensive as my current camera.
I can’t get enough of my metal art rooster. The local artist also makes other farm animals and giant flowers. By next summer my backyard is going to have a whole new look.
Tex is shedding a lot lately. It’s been hot, I can’t blame him.
Not only are they growing, they taste great. However, we have so many now we could sell at the farmers market. Next year we may plant half as many.
Cam has this shirt with all the names of his elementary graduating class on it. While on a walk I noted to Steph that it’s 2010 and pointed at his shirt. Considering how fast the first 11 years went, the next 7 are going to fly by.
What’s a neighborhood block party without a visit from the fire department? No matter how many times the kids have listened to the fire department presentation they always love it. The adults do too.
During the day the kids called their game of tag “Purple Cow,” but at night it’s called “Bloody Murder.” The kids have fun no matter what time of day, and they play themselves to the point of exhaustion. No wonder they love camping and don’t mind sleeping on the ground. They are so tired, they don’t even notice how uncomfortable it is.
