Rail Jam

Rail Jam

We went downtown to watch a snowboarding competition in the parking lot of a restaurant. Lots of baggy pants and teenage angst. We didn’t stay long.

Shattered

Shattered

The joy of having a shiny ice sculpture shattered into a million little pieces today. Not sure how, but I would have loved to watched it when it happened. It may not be standing tomorrow.

Allegiance

Allegiance

Cam knows football season is over but that doesn’t matter to him. If he could own 7 Chicago Bears jerseys he would wear one every day of the week. He’s fan even in the off-season.

S

The coolest addition to the Soigneur launch was an ice sculpture of my logo made by a local company called IceGuru. At the end of the party I was asked what I wanted to do with it. “Can I have it?” They said sure and drove it to my house, and we placed it on my porch. Right now I’m the only guy in East with an ice sculpture on his porch. Win.

Launched

Launched

Today was Soigneur’s big launch party. We had a great turnout and pretty much everything we hoped for. I wasn’t able to take any pictures. This one is courtesy of my friend David.

Frazz

Frazz

These are the hands of my friend Jef Mallett. He’s a cartoonist who draws the comic called Frazz. He’s now an author (and illustrator) of a book called Trizophrenia: Inside the Minds of a Triathlete. Triathletes are a strange bunch, and he does a good job making them look a little less nuts. Thanks for the help, Jef.

Chickens

Chickens

The boys thought the chickens got short changed by not being featured. They said all they did was gather the eggs, and since they didn’t do the actual laying of the eggs the chickens needed their own picture. The children have spoken.

Down on the farm

Down on the farm

My parents put my boys to work when they come visit the farm. The boys love it and it’s really a great diversion from their typical day. It’s a good experience for the boys as well as my parents.

Polar Bear Plunge

Polar Bear Plunge

An amazing amount of people jumped into Reeds Lake today for the annual Polar Bear Plunge.

T-shirts

T-shirts

It’s the little things that keep it moving forward.

Blue sky

Blue sky

Not only was the sun out today, it actually felt warm. It was great to be out and see the blue sky.

Winter Break

Winter Break

Over the river and thru the wood, to grandfather’s house we go. We shipped the boys off to their Grandparents for 3 days during winter break. We are enjoying the silence.

Jambalaya

Jambalaya

My only job was is to make sure the sausage didn’t burn while Steph proofed my latest project. That was my only job, that and taking the picture. The Jambalaya turned out better than the picture.

Dan K

Dan K

So much good material from Saturday’s race I couldn’t just post 1 shot.

Brain Freeze

Brain Freeze

I wonder if dogs get brain freeze. I got one just looking at this.

Snow Cross II

Snow Cross II

Valentine edition of Snow Cross today and I smartly choose to shoot pictures instead – it was cold. Nice work today by Joe to take the win. The guy that looks the least like a cyclist has probably the most ability of anyone out there and definitely the happiest guy riding.

Motivation Through Embrocation

Motivation Through Embrocation

For those cold morning run or rides when you need a little extra “Motivation” to get out the door.

Happy

Happy

I was planning on posting some shots of my field office (Wealthy Street Bakery). However you can’t take pictures if your camera doesn’t have a camera card, or a spare. So instead of dwelling on it I’m posting something happier from the archives.

Snow Day?

Snow Day?

The snow had stopped in the middle of the night, the streets and sidewalks were plowed and the sun was out. Clearly horrible and dangerous conditions for the kids to walk to school. When school is cancelled for East kids then Weather Paranoia is out of control.

Finally

Finally

After nearly 2 months of no measurable snowfall there is finally some snow that I can make Cam go shovel.

Press Check

Press Check

Today I was at the printer proofing the labels for the first product from my latest venture.

Camera Trick

Camera Trick

I learned a new lens trick. It needs some work but it’s heading in the right direction.

It’s how we roll.

It’s how we roll.

We are a 1 car family and for 99% of the time it works out. Today was a cold bike ride to swim lessons for me and Luke. I don’t think he cared how he got there as long as he got to swim.

Still playing

Still playing

The game is a lot more fun with 8 people.

Late

Late

The boys return home from school at precisely 3:38 every afternoon. Today I noticed it was 4:00 and no one had come in yet. I opened the front door and there they were playing in the snow. “We weren’t ready to come home yet”. Ok then…as you were.

Paper Delivery

Paper Delivery

Neither snow, nor rain, nor heat, nor gloom of night stays these courageous couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds.

Culinary Arts

Culinary Arts

For some (ok, me) cooking is merely a means of survival. For others it’s a creative outlet. Steph wasn’t cooking today she was a culinary artist.

My other intern

My other intern

Cam loves cameras as much as I do but for completely different reasons. He’s more interested in how they work then what they create. The first thing he said when I handed him my Flip was “cool, this is like an ipod” and off he went.
