Winter

Winter

Winter has returned. Actually it showed up and about a month late. The cold and the snow don’t bother me as long as it’s sunny. No sun and we have a mental health problem.

Pasta

I really should start a food blog.

Sketches

This is how it used to be done before computers. There were actually more intricate build drawings but if you want to know what part was what you just looked on the wall.

Randomosity

Randomosity

In one of Luke’s first game reviews he used this word, I thought it was typical quirky Luke. However while at Texas A&M I saw this sign. I think I know were Luke is going to college now.

From the archives: The rare senior shoot of Catherine the boys favorite babysitter. She will be missed when she goes to college.

Straight Flush

Amazing hand for a beginner. We all thought she was bluffing when she went all in. We were wrong and we lost.

Embrocation

Embrocation

This has been the most mild winter ever (possibly) in Michigan and guys are getting a lot more rides in outside thanks to the temps in 30′s and 40′s. Warm enough to ride outside but cold enough to reach for your favorite embrocation (Soigneur of course) to keep your legs warm and extend your ride.

12 at 12

12 at 12

2 years ago I ran 10 miles at 10am to celebrate 2010. I’ve continued the tradition with this years 12 miles at 12. The best part of running at 12 noon…espresso and lots of it.

Skate Ski

Skate Ski

Skate Skiing looks like something I’m going to have to try. It might take the edge off how dull & grey everything is and help with cabin fever.

Miles to Nowhere

Miles to Nowhere

Unlike last week when I rode outside, today was not a balmy 38 degrees. It was 8. When the temperature is that low, I ride indoors on the trainer. Fortunately, with friends and a decent movie the time passes pretty quickly, and you really do get a good workout in.

My Intern

My Intern

Luke was in the office today working on usability testing for my latest project. A lot of companies are hiring younger designers to develop their advertising and marketing thinking they can connect better with their audiences. From the looks of things he’s not impressed with my work.

That time of year

That time of year

I’m starting to look toward the summer riding season. Time to eat a little smarter.

Apples to Apples

Apples to Apples

The game is new to us and we have a lot of fun with it as a family. Now if we could only start placing bets…hmm

No School

No School

The school has the kids carry a planner and it’s suppose to help them remember homework and in general keep them organized. Actually I think some if it is for me.

The Athletic Moment

The Athletic Moment

If I were to get paid to take pictures everyday I would prefer to shoot sports. It’s what I enjoy the most. When I do shoot sports I don’t try to capture the event. I try to capture the moment that defines the event. So instead of me racing in the mud and getting lapped by Tom, I got to capture him calmly riding away and then lapping almost everyone else.
